YourMinis - Personalized Dashboard
Looks like Goowy have made one more interesting Flash based project yourminis.com, which is personalized startpage with wide range of features.

yourminis.com is a personalized dashboard of minis (mini applications, also known as widgets) that let you perform specific tasks, and get information and features from all over the web in one place. You can configure minis to see your email, check the weather, watch youtube videos, search the web, browse flickr photos, read news and rss feeds, save notes & to dos, listen to music, and much, much more.
Basically it is one more player in field full of sharks (Netvibes, PageFlakes etc.) and I don’t think it will have big popularity, But yourminis gives a fresh look how to use Flash and how to build startpages and web based widgets. I’m with interest watching how Goowy and now yourminis is developing because they are showing new ways haw to use Flash and build great web applications - good work guys!

November 7th, 2006 at 6:45 ami allready tested it, looks nice and shiny, I didn’t liked the way how new rss feed is added, you can’t just type the web page and hope its gonna find right feed, you must enter exact rss feed addres. everything is looking good, and everytnihg can be adjustable, but do I need it? no I don’t think so, I can’t go away from netvibes, because it is simpler and more convenient for me…

Check it out especially with the browser plugin - what it does (for me in Firefox) is detect RSS feeds on pages you visit. An icon in the bottom of the browser displays any feeds on the current page, and if you click the icon, your Yourminis page is loaded as a shaded overlay. The RSS feeds on the current page are set in a widget, and you can navigate your Yourminis tabs to select where to place the new feeds.
Long explanation for a really simple, really cool feature…
Seems to me Yourminis is moving ahead by leaps and bounds - I still use Netvibes as my start page, but inside two days of using Yourminis I’m questioning the logic of that :)
