Faster Facebook Photo Upload Using iPhoto Plugin
Advertisements
I’m very happy for all the Mac users because they once again have things that Windows users are dreaming about. This time I’m speaking about faster and more user friendly photo upload to Facebook using iPhoto application. Using iPhoto you can quickly export photos from your library to Facebook album together with captions and tags.

So basically iPhoto plugin gives very fast way for users to export their pictures directly to Facebook account and I think you should have this iPhoto plug-in. To use it you need to download and install it first - all the necessary information and instructions how to install it you can find here.
Requirements
- Mac OS X 10.4 or later (PowerPC or Intel)
- iPhoto 5 or later
Installation
- Download the installer by clicking on the above button.
- Double-click the downloaded file to unzip it.
- Double-click the installer package to start the Installer.
- After installation, open iPhoto (quit first if it was already running).
- There should be a “Facebook” tab in iPhoto’s export panel. Details below.

Unfortunately the facebook plugin does not work with the new version of iPhoto (version 7, the one contained in iLife08)
Cheers

August 28th, 2007 at 1:50 amAlthough the plugin download site along with others on the net claim it works with ver. 7, I find it doesn’t.

January 28th, 2008 at 2:22 amDisregard “The Wizard”. I used to have the iPhoto Facebook Uploader plugin when I was using iLife ‘06 and it worked fine, however, I fully agree with Carlo, Jen and Dave when they claim it doesn’t work with iLife ‘08. I have downloaded and installed this plugin 3 times since upgrading my iLife and it has failed to work even once since then. The developers really need to take care of this…

March 12th, 2008 at 1:26 pmIndeed ignore The Wizard since the plugin doesn’t work with iPhoto ‘08 (7.1.3)

March 12th, 2008 at 1:29 pmCorrection: it does work with the newly updated plugin Version 1.0.3.

June 18th, 2008 at 2:45 amDouble correction:
Version 1.0.3 of Facebook Exporter for iPhoto doesn’t work properly with the latest iPhoto 7.1.3 and this is a known issue for the developer.

It will mostly, only upload one photo at a time but for some, it doesn’t work at all. There is no ‘universal truth’ for you existentialist Gen.Y wallys out there (I’m referring to “The Wizard” in particular here). Just because it ‘works’ or ‘doesn’t work’ for you, doesn’t mean your experience overrides all others.
So get off your high horses, do some PROPER research, and instead of baiting each other, send an e-mail to the developer.
cheers,
m
(Why did we GenXs ever let you GenY twonks loose on OUR internet?) ;-)
