The baseball World Series is upon us here in America, so what better timing for the roll out of a brand new sports social networking site, YourSports. yoursportsWhether you’re into throwing a baseball, a frisbee, or a temper tantrum (yes, it can be a sport!), this Web 2.0 destination is primarily designed for amateur athletes looking to make it to the big show.

Now little leaguers and beyond can prove their athletic prowess by uploading a personal highlight reel. These videos are then viewed and voted on by fellow players, coaches, families, and fans. While no one is likely to land a full ride to college based on the site, it could be a glimpse into the future of sports recruiting.

YourSports also lets community members assign rankings or set up tournaments via Facebook and MySpace. This feature should have the site appealing to a broader base than just the “Friday Night Lights” crowd. Brackets can be set for any type of “sports” tournament. FOr those out there using their imagination, it will be interesting to see what kind of events get posted.

The site’s cornerstone, YourSports10, is the first nationally broadcast highlight show recognizing amateur athletes. Founded by athletes for athletes, YourSports has a Board of Advisers that includes former ESPN and Yahoo staffers.

If you’re an amateur athlete or a sports junkie who just can’t get enough SportsCenter, then YourSports gives you a sneak peek of tomorrow’s athletes today.
