Big Brother is free, and only a 20-second download away.
WebMynd, a new Firefox plugin, keeps track of what you do on the Internet. No more digging through folders of “favorite places” and Web history. The software sends a virtual copy of all the sites you visit that are stored on your hard drive to their servers. There, the information is indexed so you can retrieve it later.WebMynd can be turned off at any time or set to never record specific sites.
A button on your toolbar gives you one-click access to WebMynd playback. Here is where you search and click until find what you are looking for. In essence, you watch a video of your every move.
According to Webmynd, the categorization is much more intuitive, resulting in an easier way to retrace your steps to dig up that missing link.
WebMynd is available on Firefox 2 on Windows, Mac OS and Linux.
The free service keeps indexed information for one week, at which point, it is tossed - unless you opt for an upgrade.
It seems like the extension can also help you analyze your Web surfing activities, determining to make changes that will make you more efficient. But that knowledge comes at a price.
