Got more room for a new social network that goes by the name Zarpie?
Advertisment
In the crowded room of social networking sites dominated by Facebook and MySpace, I can’t help but wonder if there’s still room for new social networking sites to come in? Somehow, unlike me who is not so much of a risk taker, the founders and owners of the newest kid on the block of social network, Zarpie, didn’t find this a problem. Hence, they continue with what they want and launched Zarpie another one of your social networking site but this time with a little bit of twists.
Zarpie, which means cool, awesome and wicked in the urban dictionary, may not look as though it’s going to pull some magic tricks and instantly grab the limelight from MySpace and Facebook. To be honest, Zarpie did not strike me as something innovative and outstanding . Nonetheless it is still a social networking site worth your time, if only for its new features which it claims are not common among social networking sites.
And what are these features? Zarpie took the cue from YouTube and Photobucket and is allowing members (or would be members) to upload photos and videos into their profile and have rated and commented on by other Zarpie members. Zarpie also allows members to comment on other member’s profiles as well as add music and YouTube video to their profiles.
If those features sounded like what you have wanted to have in MySpace and Facebook, you might want to give Zarpie a spin. If you can live without those features, then you’re better off with either MySpace, Facebook or even Google’s Orkut.
But if you have the time, go check out Zarpie and see for yourself if it stands a chance against the two social networking giants.
