figweeDespite Valerie Bertinelli’s success with Jenny Craig, Jared getting all skinny on Subway, and The Biggest Loser enjoying some beefy ratings, there are still 33 million overweight or obese adults in America. As a relatively skinny dude, I’m not sure how much advice I can offer on the problem.  However, given the eating habits of certain family members - who will remain nameless - I am a true believer that much of the problem comes down to a misunderstanding of basic science. Another tangible problem is that it’s one thing to tell someone to eat only 3oz. of protein, and it’s another for a person to actually comprehend what that means.

Figwee to the rescue.

The new Website wants to lend a hand - or rather a photo - to help you determine acceptable portion sizes for your eating habits and/or diet.

The visual system offers 30,000 photos.  There’s never been a better excuse to eat in front of the computer!

Relying on the sense many people overlook when it comes to weight loss - SIGHT - users can view series of incremental food portion photos, helping them learn portion control.  Just drag the slider and the displayed portion will change along with the nutritional information.

More than just photos, Figwee also delivers an in-depth activity and health tracker, with an easy and sustainable solution to controlling calories.

Created by two brothers who have struggled with weight issues, they say that their own Website helped them so much that they want to make it available to the public.

You must register to use Figwee, but the Website is free to use.
