MySpace is set to launch Korean portal
Advertisment
MySpace is launching its portal on a tech-heavy, internet savvy Korean community. Actually, since I’m in the same part of the world as Korea, the launch date for the MySpace Korea will be tonight. And based on the launch party promotional material, it looks like it’s going to be a loud bang.
News.com is reporting that MySpace Korea is set to make its social networking portal to the Korean not so much to establish itself as the number one social network in Korea but rather to court the technology savvy Korean young professionals into probably developing innovative applications and programs that would benefit not only My Space’s Korean portal but MySpace main portal as well.

So, MySpace Korea would not be so much about letting Koreans socialize and interact but more so, to make Koreans explore MySpace’s platform. The Korean MySpace portal would have a sleeker design with extra features called “minilog” which is sort of a Twitter-like facility.
Similarly, MySpace is also set to launch another portal in another Asian country populated by technologically savvy young professionals – India. MySpace India as compared to the Korean portal would be in English, since most Indians are well versed with the English language.
