Facebook’s got Mini-Feed and Lexicon

Facebook has been pretty much in the news the past couple of days due to some new features it introduced to its members. After the launching the Facebook chat, here comes Facebook Mini-Feed and Facebook Lexicon.

Facebook’s mini-feed lets you import your activities from other websites into your very own Facebook mini-feed. Think of it as Friendfeed, the recently controversial Shyftr, and SocialThing although in a minor scale.
Facebook mini-feed can be found in the small “Import” link at the top of your mini-feed. But since, the tool is currently on the initial stage, it will only work with your contents at Flickr, Picasa and del.icio.us. Other sites will follow soon.
Facebook Lexicon
For what it purports to be as a useful tool, I don’t really see any use for the Facebook Lexicon. It’s a sort of trending tool for buzz words currently floating around the Facebook world. When you enter a word or term, Facebook will pull statistics from the wealth of data on Facebook without collecting any information to respect Facebook members’ privacy.
The numbers collected by Facebook Lexicon were counted by Facebook’s cluster of computers, from the number of occurrences of a word or term in the Facebook Walls, profiles and groups. What’s good about Facebook Lexicon is that it will let you compare trends across several terms. If you can think of any use for that, well and good.
