Social networking and dating sites search engine Copenda just got some new features allowing for a seamless interaction between social sites. It now allows you to do cross-searching to leading social networks to search for friends, find singles for possible dates, or to simply search for people with similar interests and more.

As a brief backgrounder, Copenda was the first search engine that lets users view profiles from multiple social networking and datings sites, long before the OpenSocial movement became a major web buzz. Copenda members were able to filter their search by gender, interests, age, location and profiles.

To possibly boosts interest to its services, Copenda has introduced the following features:

  • contact social networking users directly from your Copenda accounts,
  • manually add your social networking profiles to Copenda’s search engine and relate these profiles to your Copenda profile, this allows for a centralized profile for all you social networking profiles under a location called “My Copenda”,
  • you can have your own Copenda home page where you can manage your favorite profiles as well as edit their personal information and receive notifications,
  • allows you to have your profiles in the search results from your favorite social networks or dating sites which you have identified,
  • shows you people in your nearby locations with similar interests as yours,

Copenda currently index social networking sites such as Facebook, hi5, match.com, Friendster, Plentyoffish, and MySpace. As always, signing up is free for all.
