Tired of Twitter? Try Microblogr for a Change

If Twitter’s continued downtime has been annoying you, and Friendfeed too complicated for your needs, you might want to try Microblogr instead for your microblogging needs. Though it somewhat differs from Twitter’s interface, purpose is basically the same, to post updates about what’s going on your life and share with friends and other members of the site.
Microblogr is a social networking and microblogging community that lets you instantly connect and collaborate with your friends as well as let you discover new ones. Right now, Microblogr is in alpha state, and definitely got more rooms for improvement. The site promises to come up with a facility to have a text message feature, similar to Twitter’s SMS updating feature, that will send your updates to your functions if they activate the feature.
So, what makes Microblogr different from Twitter and the other microblogging platform? Microblogr allows you to embed YouTube videos on your updates. It works the same way as when you are embedding YouTube videos on your blog or any other site. You’ll need the video ID and URL to make it up and running on your Microblogr profile update.
In addition, Microblogr also lets you comment on someone elses profile, pictures and posts through a familiar term called “trackbacks”, that appears on your profile.
Other than this, we are hoping that the Microblogr team will come up with other innovative features that would set it apart from all the rest of the microblogging platforms available on the web. That is, if they want to gain some leverage againsts the likes of Twitter, Friendfeed and Thumblr.
A good start would be to come up with a catchy term to call the Microblogr updates, or any derivates that would refer to the act of posting an update to members profile. Twitter = Tweets + Tweetering. You get what I mean?
