YouMeO - A Social Networking Site that Encourages You to Use Other Social Networks

Youmeo is a new social network, yes. But it can also be a lifestreaming service or a social network aggregator for all your social networking profiles. So, youmeo is a social network for social networks. And its got some pretty good potential.
Youmeo was previously known as pplparty and was founded by a 15-year old netrepreneur. It’s a social networking site that encourages you tobring, import, update and synchronize all your social networks, and other online profiles or accounts including photo sharing and video sharing sites and even the Xbox into one social networking profile. It currently supports Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and MySpace.
Youmeo as a social networking site pretty much offers your standard social networking fanfare. It gives you your own “social home” where you can aggregate your other social network profiles and activities. It lets you upload your videos or embed videos from other public sites. Its got photos and you can embed photos from other sites as well.
Why did I say that Youmeo’s got potential? Because it was founded by a 15-year old kid in 2005 and it’s team has grown into 10 since then. All it probably needs is a good VC funding to make a big headway into the social networking scene.

July 11th, 2008 at 7:40 amIt’s definitely a great concept. However, perhaps it’s because a very young person conceived and developed the idea, but the focus is all on young people. It looks and feels like a student site.
I also noticed Linked In (www.linkedin.com) isn’t even listed as one of the networks from which one can pull. Is this because it’s not possible or because the focus isn’t on business?
In either case, if we want social networking to expand to the business world, we will need to appeal to their sensibilities and traffic patterns.

July 11th, 2008 at 9:25 amI think the fact that they are focusing on young people is smart because it is the majority of social network users and they are also very active users on different networks. That’s why many people especially young can see great value using Youmeo.
