From the for fun social networking site for dogs, we now move on a more professional and serious social networking site, this time geared fro law students - Casemaker X. Previously announced during the American Association of Law Librarians Conference in Portland, Casemaker X is set for a full launch in early fall of 2008.

Casemaker X is a full-featured social networking site offering law students not only platform to communicate, network and connect with other law students but it also provide free access to the Casemaker Suite of Applications for the U.S. law student community.

Casemaker X  can also be taken as an information portal for self-promotion, education, mentoring and future opportunities in the legal profession with a mission to help law students achieve not only personal but also professional growth. The site’s rich information content is composed of case law, codes and statutes, medical support documents and experts and legal languages and most important of all its members’ individual knowledge and expertise.

Casemaker X’s social networking components includes blogging, instant messaging, photo sharing, job postings, video streaming via YouTube and iPhone plug-ins.

Finally for those who are into LinkedIn, you’ll notice many similarities between the business-like social networking athmosphere of LinkedIn with Casemaker X.
