The past months fuel prices was a worldwide problem. Although, it has decreased significantly the past few days, the crisis was a wake-up call for countries who wasn’t expecting to get hit by the increase in fuel prices. Car owners were prompted to save on gas and find ways to do it. Some went on to using smaller, more fuel efficient cars, some utilized the power of car pooling and while others took the route of public transport. But now that the world petroleum prices have stabilized a bit, it’s about time we all be concern about our fuel consumption. Fuelly wants to help, utilizing the power of online community and social networking.

Fuelly is an online service which help you track your car’s gas mileage over time. Through constant monitoring of your car’s mpg, Fuelly hopes to help you save fuel and expenses enabling you to continue enjoying your car without worrying too much about fuel costs.

Built for a little over two weeks, Fuelly started with the idea of creating an MPG history calculator application. developers Matt and Paul decided to make it a web-based and multi-use service allowing users to compare cars and drivers across the system.

Fuelly is a free service and all you need to do is to register an account and you can start adding your car details and start sharing information to other members. You can also compare your mileage with EPA estimates and with mileage of other drivers. In addition, Fuelly also features a forum where members can discuss tips on conserving fuel, driving tips, among other things.
