Twitter + Digg = Dwigger, Cool!
Advertisment
So what would you get if you combine two of the most popular web 2.0 applications, specifically an information aggregator and a microblogging service? We’re talking about Twitter and Digg of course and their combination is certainly a cool new site called Dwigger.
Dwigger is a voting and threaded conversations for Twitter. That’s how simple it is. It was made for both Twitter and Digg lovers. Dwigger puts “Tweets” into threaded conversation and allows members to vote on for these “Tweets”, ala Digg.
So, how do you get started using Dwigger? Just create a Dwigger account using your Twitter profile. Then start “dwigging” your Tweets from your Twitter timeline or create a new Tweet right inside Dwigger instead. Then start asking your Twitter friends to “dwigg” your Tweet. Easy, right?
Wait, there’s more. You can also start a Dwigger thread by sending SMS to the Twitter account “dwigger”. If you are a Dwigger.com member your SMS will be automatically submitted as a new Dwigger thread. To do this, just prefix your message with “d dwigger” and send the SMS to 40404.
Want some more features? How about a Hit List, which is a compilation of Tweets with specific keywords that you’re interested in, say “social networking”? Dwigger has that specifically made for you.
Tag Clouds? Dwigger also has it and its called Zeit Cloud. An amalgamation perhaps of Zeitgeist and Tag Clouds. The many times a word is used by Dwigger member, the bigger that word becomes in the Zeit Cloud.
In short, Dwigger is hoping to bring back the social networking aspect of Twitter. It’s a supplementary service to Twitter, and it wants to make Twitter even more interesting to use.
And we couldn’t agree more.
