There’s no doubt that YouTube is perhaps most widely used online service worldwide. Even the US Government has recognized its potential to reach large-scale audience not only coming from the U.S., but from other countries as well. And so the YouTube Senate Hub and Congress Hub were born.

These two Congressional YouTube Hubs have one purpose – to reach out to the U.S. constituents through. TV is a thing of the past. YouTube is the new wave of communication. If you want to say something to the world, grab a videocam and record what you have to say and then upload in YouTube. And this is what the U.S. Congress have in mind.

The U.S. Congressional YouTube Hubs showcase the both members of the Senate and the House of Representatives. It serves as portals for the senators and congressman and congresswoman’s own YouTube channels. Basically the hubs contain pretty much all the stuff that you usuall find in a regular YouTube channel – Favorites, Playlist and all.

But a nice feature of these YouTube channels are the huge U.S. maps showing the different states. Clicking on a state will give you a list of the Representatives in the said state and their respective YouTube channel.

These YouTube hubs are just but one good example showing the YouTube is starting to mature from its previous just-for-the-fun-of-it type of video uploading service to becoming a resounding voice in the society.

The U.S. Congressional YouTube channel is a good example to follow for other countries who want to reach out to their constituents, provided that they have a solid national IT infrastructure and a high Internet literacy among their citizens.
