On http://www.sharethemusic.com users can listen to all music for free and it's legal.
Registration and software download is required, but I think it’s worth it.

NashvilleRadio.tv promotional radio station is a free live streaming radio station for unsigned artists. Upload your next number one hit for our producers to hear and your fans to rave about.

The artists interviews, articles, and forums are to help upcoming artists with how to's and what's not in the singer/songwriter life style.

If you are an indie band then goto this site. The general groupie will not find these articles or interview interesting.

I am really sick of this social nonsense. What does listening to music have to do with sharing it with others and reporting to the entire planet what you are listening now to? Moreover, most of theser sites have a limited library of mainstream record label songs from North America and UK.

All I want to do is pick a song or artist or album, and freakin' listen to it. Maybe save a playlist. Not talk to others about it, not being subjected to idiotic suggestions and "radio stations" or the site's own playlists being shoved down my ear canal.

The few sites that used to do that, like Deezer.com were in legal trouble with the music industry and took the play function away so now they must shove music you didn't request in your ears. I cannot understand why it is legal for them to play whatever music they want to you and it is not legal for you to push the play button, but this sickness with the entire music industry is just causing me to listen less and less, and want to rip them off with MP3's I get and give to friedns more and more. What on earth is wrong with this picture?

If anyone wants to check it out feel free to leave me a comment on the episode. thewebmix.com/2009/02/04/show15/

Sutros.com is different from those listed above because all the music is published under the creative commons license, which allows people to embed the music, and 'really' share it, legally!
