Hi my name is Jonna and I have a wonderful fiance named Jon, sorry we are un-able to make a video of both of us in it, because I'm currently working with the U.S. Army in Iraq

but...

I really...REALLY want to do this so I want to give it a shot, but before I tell you about our proposal story, I want to point this out, there are always second chances in life. So let me begin: about 13 months ago I got deployed to Iraq. For those unfamiliar with it, it is a whole new world, frightening, and exhilarating at the same time. Boys walk in, and either walk out as a Man or they die as a boy there. For my own personal situation, just like so many others, I had no choice, but I would make the best of my situation, and make this great country proud of what I could do. I was not a soldier, but a linguist. I save soldiers’ lives by translating highly classified documents and negotiations so they can stop suspicious activity before it kills another person, or what I term an “Innocent.”

I had met someone very special, only after two months while deployed. I was very careful, love over there may seem like it one day, but that is because everyone is dying, and not knowing what tomorrow is, makes one love the wrong person, sometimes, just to fill the fearful loneliness. But before I left to go back home, though, he saw the face of Death on my next mission, and broke it off, he wanted someone there to love, not to mourn. I wasn’t even given a chance.

So when I lost what I thought I had finally found, I didn’t care, what I lost afterwards. The next day, I stood in front of my commanding officer, and said I would volunteer and go outside the wire on mission. It is one of the most dangerous things any Soldier can do to themselves, but if they succeed, they earn unforgettable Honor. He thought I had lost my mind, no-I had lost my heart.

It didn’t work, I survived. Then I decided to do something different so I signed up with Myspace. There was someone online, who was also working with the Army, similar to me. Everything he wrote was always supportive, and we both seemed to love the same things-music, life, good friends. Each time I got online, I felt alive, and I could forget the background of what was behind me-the gray smoke of the bombs being tested, or the foreign stutter of harsh orders, screamed at you, like you were not a human being, but a casualty with a short uselessness. Sometimes it is just nice to have someone there for you who cares, really cares, I mean. Pretty soon, we would finish each other’s sentences , or he would send me songs to inspire me on life and love. They seemed to give me hope, show me the future we kept planning to build together. No matter what, we promised we would stay alive for each other, and we did. As his mission was ending, he proposed to me. He said if he lost his life the next day, he wanted to know we were married not only in this life, but for me to know that, he would be waiting to reunite with his wife in the next. I finally had found true love.

Who knew worlds apart, could be united so closely with Myspace. It might seem strange, but I owe my fiancée and Myspace for a second chance at life. No one believed in us but I want to prove to everyone that they were wrong, and get married with what brought us together, finally, in the first place. Believe me, there are second chances in this Life!
