You are so rude! Seriously?! What is WRONG with you?? You're really SO ANGRY at a total stranger's writing style that you would spend your time letting loose with a caustic, nasty diatribe and personal attack?

What are you REALLY angry at, D.B. Cooper? Financial stress? Crappy love life? Problems at work? Mommy didn't love you enough? I pity the poor soul who has the misfortune of inadvertently cutting you off on the road or is in front of you at the grocery store with a credit card that doesn't go though. What would you do, shoot them? You sound like a miserable, angry person who needs a hug. Bless your sore, irritated little heart.

I recommend finding yourself a good psychiatrist who will put you on a very high dosage of psychotropic medication to sedate you while you work through your anger issues. Perhaps a change in your fitness routine from pushing old ladies into the street and torturing small animals to something more calming, such as yoga, may be of benefit to you as well. I sincerely hope you get the help you so obviously need.

Try www.mejuba.com - far better than Flickr. It's free and as Pustefisk wrote the navigation is super! Hihgly recommended.

Yes, you are just a tosser I think. This is tim thigpen. I happened to locate this little place by noticing a few visitors from this "rotorblog.com" source. I come here, and find this nice comment. First of all, my personal website and picnook.com are entirely separate (though I of course own and operate both). My personal website is just that, my personal website where people can view my work, and buy prints etc. I have sold several prints from my personal site. You dont like my photography? Thats ok- everyone has an opinion. The wedding photography is from a family member's wedding in which I was only there as a 2nd photographer and was not paid for it. I am a nature and wildlife photographer, not a wedding photographer. I should also add here that Ive been into photography for 1 year. (the wedding was shot just 3 months after buying my first slr.)

Picnook.com on the other hand was just launched 6 days ago (on February 16, 2010). It is a brand new endeavor that I am investing my own time and money into, in the hopes of bringing several photography friends Ive met from around the world together, and hopefully many more. Your assessment of the site sounds so immature. You clearly spent about 5 seconds on the site before making a conclusion. What is the deal with Nikon being shunned? And, how is the site not USA friendly when Americans so far make up a good portion of the members so far? Are referring to the canon user group that someone created? Its been 6 days since launch, 2 groups have been created, neither happen to be a nikon users group, whats your point?

You are such a sweet person Mrs. Darcy. For being into photography for just 1 year, I think ive done fairly well. What have you done the last year? Where is your website? Where is your photography?

JYM:

I agree. And there seems to be a surplus of copycat pictures on Flickr. I see some of the same ones done or shall we say "re-done". I think it is so big that it is easy to copy them and "fix" them up a bit. I don't find Flickr or Picasa easy to use at all. And sometimes if I have to see one more SUNSET picture again I think I shall go stark raving mad.

At least do it in different colours for gawd's sake. (Sorry-small pet peeve of mine).

I have one I use for editing, but still looking for a site for critiques. I just started and have been asked to "shoot" two people now. Oh-when can I quit my day job?

lol.

Thanks for the suggestions all! ;-)

Erm, Janis are you the spokesperson for picnook? Tim Thigpen has NO comments on his personal website, has done ONE wedding, and while I am not a pro, it was horribly done, his waterfall pictures look photo edited to death and does not check in regularly. The only people on there seem to ALL be the SAME people, and it does not look like it is USA friendly. Sorry---it does not look APPEALING AT ALL!

But I am just basing it on the opinion of 6 people I had look at it. That is just us. Each to their own. **And what if you own a Nikon? Would you be shunned?

Just saying. Maybe I am a tosser, but that is what I think. xx

D. B. Cooper: How pretentious you are! Goodness! And it is perfectly obvious you are upset and have some mental issues to deal with or you would not have such hubris in your comments. It is so sad.

This page is very informative and I will check out several of the sites. (And there would be no hyphen between barely and literate). Ta.

I'm surprised at finding Flickr at the top of the list. I find it to be one of the least user friendly sites of any kind I've ever seen. After more than an hour and after having taken the "Flickr tour", read the FAQs. read the guidelines and uploaded some pictures I still haven't bee able to make my "friends and family" photos actually available to my friends and family! The information in the FAQs are incorrect and so far the Flick forum has not helped.

Thanks Pustefisk!.
I just signed up with www.mejuba.com. Unlimited storage for both videos and pictures and it's completly free. No monthly limits or qoutas.
Photos and videos are stored in their original formats and sizes and are kept unmodified for backup.
I also like that you can geo-tag your stuff so it shows up on a map. And you can search for stuff on the map - that's cool!.
As the only site i know of it uses a Windows Explorer like navigation with folders - super eacy to use - even has drag and drop!.
I can highly recommend it.
