hotprints_logoFor the fast couple of weeks, I must admit that I was getting pretty annoyed by the sudden influx of my Friendster college friends to Facebook.  And of course, I can’t turned down their invitation to connect to them via Facebook. But what bothers me is the rate that they are posting photos on their Facebook account. I don’t really see a reason for uploading tons of photos to Facebook, there’s Flickr to handle that. But that was until I learned about HotPrints, a photo printing service that promises to bring your Facebook photo collection to life. The HotPrints photo printing service is intended to be an extension of sharing your photos to your Facebook friends, only this time sharing is done through actual print outs of your Facebook photos, delivered to your friends’ doorsteps. It’s a clever idea really.  The HotPrints people must have noticed the rate at which Facebook members are uploading photos that they quickly came up with the service.

And they don’t just print your Facebook photo collection piece by piece but they print it in high-quality photo book. The fee? Dirt cheap at around $2.99 plus standard U.S. shipping of $0.79.

Incidentally, HotPrints is the first native application in Facebook that offers that kind of photo printing service. We expect other to follow this feat and offer their kind of photo printing service in Facebook.  And we could also see Facebook members rushing to have their Facebook photo collection printed.

If you’re in the U.S. or U.K. you can have your photo collection printed and share it with your Facebook friends if they are also located in the U.K. and U.S. If you’re not from these two areas, you could probably have your photo collection printed and sent to your Facebook friends but you can’t ask them to for their photo collection print since HotPrints don’t ship internationally.
