I've seen the spam and viruses on Facebook and seems that it's increasing. It will happen regardless who you follow. i think social networking sites are great for - as the name suggests - social and personal networks. Can't imagine my boss making an announcement about company restructuring over FB. E-mail is still here to stay. http://www.newsy.com/videos/is_e_mail_dying

I think spam can be much more easily managed in social networking because you determine who you follow. It's so nice not to have to weed through the junk mail! I actually access Twitter and Facebook on my webtop whenever I log on - it's my preferred medium for easy interaction with colleagues, clients, and friends. And since I'm already on Twitter and Facebook for socialreasons, it gives me one less application that I need to open and weed through.
