So, is your Facebook home page already updated? The Facebook blog has just announced that the new home page is gradually rolling out to users. My Facebook account is already updated to the new format and the new features are already showing up. So, far I like the new sleek design, it is cleaner and more organized.

For those who are still waiting for the new home page to appear on their Facebook account. Here’s brief rundown of the new features of the new Facebook home page.

First is the revamped News Feeds which now lets you know what’s happening with your friends and other connections. The new format now also makes it easier for you to comment and converse with your friends and their updates in a chat-like, real-time environment.

Then, you’d also notice that the Publisher box which used to sit on top of your Facebook home page is also now sitting across the site. This means that you can now create content, including posting links, uploading photos and more even when you are on your Facebook profile page.

Next and this is something that I personally like, is the fact that you can now control your Facebook News Feeds right on your Facebook home page. This means you can hide/unhide updates from your friends as well as filter that contents and updates that you want to be displayed on your home page.

The last new feature of the new Facebook home page is the highlights. This in my opinion is somewhat vague and conflicting with the News Feed. The Facebook blog explains this as updates from your friends on a longer time period than your News Feeds. You can see the highlights on the right sidebar of your home page.  The Highlights will contain photos, notes and other contents from your friends, Facebook groups which you have joined, as well as birthdays of your Facebook friends.

So, how do you find the new Facebook home page so far? Do you like it? Or would you rather that Facebook gave you an option to retain the old format? Feel free to leave a comment folks.
