I REALLY dislike the new Friends page and the fact that my Facebook opens to this obnoxious new page by default. If FB is waiting for us to get used to it, well...they will need to be patient because it's not gonna happen!

Yeah, definitely not feeling the new page. Facebook is loosing a big chunk of its appeal without those status updates.

Can't imagine it will be gone for long. Otherwise it's just a step backwards.

But why is it that most ppl can still see all their friends' updates? None of my friends have that problem except for me and it just started 2 days ago. Just a little tip. You don't have to go to each one individually. Remember if you click on friends it lists them in order of lastest updates (At least that's how mine does it). But it's irritating having to do that!

Well people, I think one of the reasons FB changed the friends list to a pop-up is because the old version allowed hackers to play with the coding and view things like private profiles and albums. Maybe this new version was a compromise? I agree though, I hate how I can't view the status updates and I have to click on each individual friend. I don't care THAT much.

Another person just agreeing - I don't like that it sends you automatically to adding new friends. I just want to see what my friends are up to. Oh wait, can't anymore. Status changes are gone. Why does fb have to become crappier and crappier?

I agree...one of the features I used the most was finding out what my friends were up to. This has been removed, and I don't log in often enough to get this info from my home page. I'd have to be on every second of the day to see all my friends' status updates, and I liked how Facebook used to make it easy.

I HATE the new Friends change. First off, when I pull up my Friends page, my "default action" is *not* to add new friends -- I'm already friends with most of the folks I know; adding new friends is actually a very rare operation for me.

But what really bother's me is that FB has taken away the #1 feature I used: checking the status updates of my friends. There is now no way to get this information.

Epic Fail!!

I could not agree more. The main reason I used Facebook was to quickly (high emphasis on the "quickly" word) learn what each of my friends were up to. Hopefully Facebook will directly address this shortcoming so we can decide if it is time to say goodbye to Facebook or if there is hope of seeing this functionality return. This one is a deal breaker for me!

Where are the status updates? I even tried to create a new list of friends, but even then I view ALL updates, and can't narrow it down to just status or photos. I can understand if they want to ADD features, but don't take the most popular one away. Do they perform any functionality research at all? They really may lose a lot of people if they keep up this "newness" without maintaining the features that work.

Why can we no longer see status updates on our friends page??? This has to be corrected, it has to be a mistake-- it makes no sense. Since I've been using facebook (about 5 months) it has gone from great to shitty. I Don't log on near as often either.

Does the person who wrote this actually USE Facebook? Because none of these features are new. The search box that is "the first thing I'll notice" has been there forever. As have the other features you mention. They were just in a different place.

Here's the first thing I notice: I can no longer see my friends' status updates or latest updates on my friends page. That's right, FB didn't ADD functionality, they took it away. Now, to see status updates from my 150 friends, I have to click on each and every one of their profiles.

Meanwhile, I, who used to be one of FB's biggest fans, am looking for an alternative. FB has changed to the point that it no longer works for many users.
