With adding extensions Google made me change my mind and give up on Firefox – so far the best browser in the world! The biggest problem with the Firefox is it’s never ending hunger for system resources (memory) and yes, Chrome is faster. OK, enough with the browser battle, I was going to list there some great extensions I found. Thinking about extensions to include, I found that I actually use pretty much addons that are dedicated for different Google services and decided to include in this post extensions for Google services only. So here you go:

Note: Extension are for developer builds of Chrome 4.0+

Gmail

Displays the number of unread messages so you can always be notified whan you receive new emails and give a quick response. If you click on the icon it also gives you a short insight on who writes you and you can take a little peek into the message. [Install]

Wave

Very similar to the Gmail extension – displays the number of unread waves. Although you can’t take a peek on the wave clicking on the icon how it is with the Gmail extension – hope to see this functionality in the future. [Install]

Reader

Get your reader to the Chrome too and be notified when new articles pops up from your favorite sources. Clicking on the icon will bring you straight to the reader where you will be able to dig trough the resources. [Install]

PDF to Google Docs

Great extension which allows you to open any pdf file you find online open using Google Docs. You probably asking why it is a great deal, well – there is no need to install Adobe Reader on your computer, just use Google online app for that. [Install]

Tasks

Very easy to use extension dedicated for those who use tasks. It enables/disables the visibility of the tasks panel straight form the Chrome browser clicking on the icon. Btw if you still don’t use tasks it is a great way to manage things around you. [Install]

Translate

Great extension which allows you quickly translate selected text without going to Google Translate page. It is already one of the most popular extensions and many users love it because on the simplicity of the tool. [Install]

If you know more great extensions for different Google services feel free to comment and share it with others. On the other hand I promise to write a piece on other great Chrome extensions that isn’t connected with Google services but allows you to simplify many tasks.

As much we love meeting people on Twitter, but we can’t deny the clutter sometimes is driving us crazy! We need an organizer, a superhero to filter the noise for us – that’s why Twitter Lists is introduced! 20 lists available for each Twitter account with a maximum of 500 people per list. Sounds good! However many are intimidated by the overwhelming effort they need to put in while creating the lists so they give up.

Quitting on Twitter Lists is not an option especially if you have goals to achieve in social networking. Instead of wasting your time, you can easily earn back the benefits with a regulated and manageable Twitter account. Here are 9 reasons why you should be In Love but not intimidated by Twitter Lists:

1. Restructure Your Twitter Network

Twitter Lists force you to be organized with your Twitter account. Instead of a huge following number with random updates sending your way, clear the clutter so you won’t overlook any tweets that required your attention and from those who matter. You won’t have to deal with undecided mind of whether or not to unfollow someone. Events and information can now have a new grouping method instead of ‘hashtags’ all the time. Isn’t that exciting?

2. Organize Company Network to Fulfill Customer’s Needs

Companies and organizations can now aggregate their staffs to fit in a list. Customers can easily reach them for further details and feedback. Such division can make the follow up easier according to respective field and expertise. Besides, it’s a lot easier to locate them under a verified brand name to avoid fakers.

3. Reputation Management

With Twitter Lists you can know instantly if anyone puts you in a group with unfavorable name. Some friends may try to be funny and use a sarcastic name on the group; you wouldn’t want to be misjudged by your clients do you? On the other hand, this is also a great way to review your position in the hearts of others.

4. Alternative for 2k Following Limit

Good news for some who are reaching the 2k following limit. They can now have the lists created to manage the additional contacts until their follower number is closing up to 2k. Besides, following a list is just like subscription and no harm done to your existing following limit.

5. Reconnect with Long Lost Contacts

I don’t know about you but I’m certain I have left some people out in the process of following more tweeps. They don’t appear as often and sometimes none at all due to a busy tweet-stream. Rediscovering the long lost contacts can be just as important since relationship-building is never easy. Why throw that all away?

6. Acknowledge Tweeps Effectively

Recommending friends in your Twitter network can never be easier and effortless. For those who are constantly worried about forgetting a name in #FollowFriday, Twitter Lists can make sure a full list delivered. Users can now have more time to work on descriptive reasons to follow these people instead of a random tweet of multiple names. Not to mention, the Twitter Lists are there to stay on the main site and can be referred to anytime.

7. Meet Like Minded People from Trustworthy Individuals

We can now meet people with similar interests conveniently through the lists introduced by our trusted friends. While some presume the existence of Twitter Lists will reduce our following numbers, I’m actually excited to add some more to mine! Think about the niche content and the potential tweeps you get to meet. Not to mention all the real time results related to our fields and a tighter network – these are all possible with Twitter Lists.

8. Locate Potential Customers

One thing that makes Twitter Lists special is the manual configuration by Twitter users. Not only marketers can now locate potential customers geographically but also based on the group name given. For example, if one is looking for Mommy group, the ‘Supermoms’ or ‘mommy pals’ lists will pretty much give them out. Market surveyors can now identify customer’s behavior better by knowing what other items they are interested in based on lists created publicly.

9. A Check on Your Twitter Influence & Authority

Twitter Lists can be a new influence indicator for Twitter. Not that we are encouraging people to be in as many lists as possible, but ‘the reasons why people are enlisting you’ and ‘who are they’ are much more important. For instance, a list by Mashable with your name on ‘social media ally’ worth thousands’ times more than 100 lists of spamming accounts. So find out how people define your character in the network by reviewing the lists you’re on. Are you satisfied with your branding so far?

I’m sure there are a lot more reasons why one should take Twitter Lists seriously. So what is your take with this new added feature in your Twitter account? What have you experienced after forming your Twitter Lists?

I recently launched my very first eBook. I’m satisfied with the content I have created but have come up a bit short when it comes to promotion. One great way to put your product or service in front of an audience is with a press release. There are many companies that will hit you up for several hundred dollars to disseminate your info, but there are also plenty that will do it for free. Their reach might not be as great, but the price tag can’t be beat. And I can tell you that by using these services, I have sold several dozen additional books.

Each offers increased exposure with paid upgrades and most require free registration. Here are a few of the better FREE press release Web sites.

1) PRLOG

Within one week of submitting my press release, I began showing up on the first page of Google search results when looking for my Web site’s key words. Basic HTML is accepted, including three links. Press releases can easily be embedded on Websites and a PDF version is available for download.

Only the portion after “@” of your e-mail address is displayed. That means you can’t really use a non-business address (Gmail, Hotmail etc.) or your release will carry much less weight and potentially look ‘fishy.’ Press releases are ad supported with a million links framing your release. This makes the core text a bit difficult to read. (sample release)

2) I-NEWSWIRE

This service does not accept HTML coding but you can set up a company profile that includes a single link to your homepage. You must include a business address (which I don’t think is vetted by a human being) and a phone number. It’s simple to share your release on dozens of social networks and tags are easily found and identified. There is also valuable content such as Top 10 Rules for a successful submission. (sample release)

3) FREE-PRESS-RELEASE

Like most of the sites on this list, free releases are supported with Google Ads. But these guys also use Kontera in-line text ads, which, let’s face it, are somewhat distracting. HTML is not permitted and text ads show up in the middle of the release, which can be misleading to readers. Press releases can be e-mailed to friends and ad-free print-friendly functionality rounds out the site. You supply an e-mail address and messages are forwarded to you via a Free Press Release form. (sample release)

4) CLICK PRESS

Google News and MSN News are targeted via this free release site. There are no hotlinks allowed. Many of the ads that appear on free press releases are visual, which looks cluttered, but it does make it easier to differentiate what is an ad and what is part of the release.

5) 1888PRESSRELEASE

1888PressRelease.com says they offer a free release, but after registering and reviewing their pricing grid, I’m not sure what free really gets you.

6) OPEN PR

Companies may create up to three releases per day, with each reviewed and potentially edited by a human being. No HTML. Full postal mailing address is required for release.

CONCLUSION

The major problem with these sites is not that they are ad supported – but how the contextual ads are displayed. In many cases, they make it impossible to differentiate between internal and external links, making it very important that you pay attention to what you are doing, because you can easily be led away to a paid press release Website.

When you use free tools you get what you pay for, and in this case, each site provides a useful service to smaller businesses and independent Website owners who do not have the budget of PRWeb or other paid press release services.

I’ve been playing around with Google Wave for the past couple of weeks. And to be honest, I still couldn’t dig its merit. It’s supposed to be an online communication tool. And yet you can communicate only with friends in your contact list. And right now it is currently in exclusive beta mode, with probably more than 100,000 users if Google really sent out those invites as they say so. Now what if none of you contacts got into the Wave beta?

To make my Google Wave exploration useful, I decided to look around for Wave gadgets that I can use, and actually found a handful of them. So here goes, 5 Google Wave Gadgets that you will most likely use.

Twitter

You knew this is will be my first useful gadget right? It should be, well at least for me. This gadget gives you your Twitter’s public timeline as a wavelet. Unfortunately, it does not allow you to post tweets, reply to conversation directly on Twitter. To activate this gadget just add tweety-wave@appspot.com to your contact list. It will authenticate your Twitter account the first time you use it.

Amazon

This gadget lets you search for products on Amazon’s various product category. It’s the best looking Google Wave gadgets I’ve seen so far. And the Amazon bot works fast t00. To add this gadget, just add amazon-withwaves-com@appspot.com to your contact list.

Eliza

If got bored while exploring Google Wave or you’re contacts are not sending you waves, you might find Eliza useful. Yup, it’s the auto-chat bot who is also an auto-shrink. Common, talk to her if you must. Just don’t ask too many complicated questions. To add Eliza to Google Wave, just add elisarobot@appspot.com. Have fun!

Starify

This gadget lets you bookmark Waves which you can then later on list or delete. It uses the following commands – /star’, /list’, and /delete’. To add this gadget to Google Wave, just add starifybot@appspot.com. It could be useful if you’ve created many waves already.

Calcbot

This Wave gadget will come in handy whenever you need to do some simple calculations while in the middle of a conversation inside a wave. Just add calcbot@appspot.com to your contact list and you’re good to go.

These are just some of the Google Wave gadgets currently available. Using these gadgets on your Google Wave account adds some excitement to Google Wave, especially if you don’t have too many contacts who are in the exclusive circle of early Google Wave users. If you’re not one of them and you want an invite, just shoot me an email with your gmail account and I’ll include you in my invitation list. I still have a couple of invites to throw out.

We’ve highlighted the most popular online slideshow creators…

Animoto – One of the most robust, modern options for slideshows is Animoto which allows you to quickly upload your pictures, select music and the algorithm times the movement of your pictures with your selected movement automatically- it’s like MTV crawled into your computer and designed a custom video for you!

Slide - A slideshow creator made especially for sharing on social networks such as Facebook, Bebo and more. Slide has a wide variety of music options and design additions to amp up any slideshow!

Slideroll – An optional downloadable desktop editor allows users to create flash photo and video galleries that are fully embeddable to your website and allow comments from other users. Add stock music or even your own (with a little code tweaking!).

Monoslideshow – Mono offers one of the most clean, fresh slideshows with no border or you tube-esque visual frames which is perfect for portfolios or professional shows for your website (plus it has Ken Burns effects which is always a major plus). Used by blog platform Tumblr.

Imageloop - An easy slideshow creator, perfect for the beginner or people used to the MySpace interface. It offers preset themes, for example an iPhone theme to make it look like your uploaded pictures are being viewed on in iPhone.

RockYou – Pulls photos you’ve already uploaded to sites like Photobucket and Facebook and gives them a face lift (complete with music) then prepares them to be shared on social networks like MySpace and Facebook.

Smilebox – Add your photos, videos, words, and music and then e-mail, blog, print or burn it to a DVD. Hundreds of templates ensure you’ll get “miles of smiles” from your family and friends.

Kizoa - This slideshow creator is easy to use and produces a nice Flash-based product. My pnly gripe is that it forces your browser window to the max size, and that drives me nuts.

Drupal Sildeshow – Users of this great open source CMS that was recently adopted by the White House, have easy access to turn uploaded images into a JavaScript enabled slideshow.

Dijit – This Web-based widget creator lets you take your own original photo slideshow and post it on your MySpace or Facebook account. You can also allow people to download your goods.

Wix – Taking the legwork out of learning Flash, Wix requires no downloads or programming, and gives the novice a chance to roll out a slick looking slideshow.

Moblyng – A developer of cross-platform games for mobile devices and social networks, the site also features a slideshow creator. Add captions, skins and music to give your photos a unique spin. Grab the embed code and make it mobile.

Twitter is one of the most powerful tools of it’s generation and is not only changing the way we communicate and do business but also the way we consume the latest news and how brands approach customer feedback. On the whole twitter is a good thing. There is however a noise factor with Twitter that makes it hard to deduce all the best information that flows through your stream on a daily basis. We get that it is a conversational tool but there are some tweets that should just be banned as they really don’t give you any insight yet they keep on popping up so without further ado here is our list of the top 10 most annoying tweets…

1. Morning, NN twitter, afternoon all

This just doesn’t add anything to the conversation and telling me that you are off to bed is not something that I really need to know!

2. Can you give this a Digg or stumble

We get the fact that you are very proud of the great content you have produced and that you want as many people to see it as possible but the fact of the matter is that you are in the same boat as a couple of other million people on the internet looking for traffic. Join the queue and let us decide ourselves what content we like when we see it.

3. You have no idea how busy I am

We get it you are busy. So is every other person on the planet right now and if you were that busy you wouldn’t have time to write about it on a micro blogging service to a group of what are mostly strangers.

4. I am out having dinner at conference with X and Y

We get the fact that you have hooked up with somebody you are proud to have met and this is a big deal for you but how about you concentrate on having a good time and connecting with the person in question in the real world and stop showing off to your online buddies.

5. #FollowFriday or #musicmonday

I’m really not that in to the ego stroking that is follow Friday. I have never followed anybody this way and there are far better ways of finding music socially that the cumbersome use of a hash tag for #musicmonday

6. Any sort of automated DM

If you can’t even be bothered to write me a human response and think it is a good idea to send me an automated DM linking to your blog or website then you are gone. Simple as that.

7. One more follower and I get to XXX

Forget about the numbers. I don’t care if you are stuck on 9999 or whatever other stupid number it is. The fact is half of your followers are a mixture of spam bots, people pimping their product and people who haven’t tweeted in about 3 months so what do numbers really matter?

8. The raging debate between 2 people you follow

Twitter is not for having arguments in public or polluting other people’s streams. Once it gets to the 2nd or 3rd message take it to DM’s, IM or email. We just don’t need to see 20 back and forths

9. My email inbox is soooooooo full today

Yeah we get it you are super popular and loads of people love you and they are all emailing you multi million dollar contracts and huge business proposals. We all get a lot of email and most of it is junk :)

10. What a goal by XX

I follow people from all over the world so when somebody is giving me blow by blow commentary from an American football game in Texas it really means very little to me.

Whether you agree or not, ebooks are here to stay. It is bound to replace the old printed books as we know it today. The proof? There are now several online ebook stores where you can purchase and download commercially published books. Here are some of them.

Barnes & Noble

B&N’s online bookstore has been around for quite some time now, but it only started offering ebook version of commercially published books recently. What’s so good about B&N’s online ebookstore is its tie-up with Apple and RIM for their respective Barnes&Noble mobile phone apps. If you still prefer to read on your PC or Windows machine, you can download B&N’s desktop reader instead. B&N also offers discount coupons from time to time if you register and agrees to receive updates via email.

Amazon Kindle Books

Amazon’s Kindle Books online store may be the reasonw why the likes of Barnes and Noble and Sony decide to come up with their own ebookstore. The Amazon Kindle Book store supports downloading of ebooks directly to the Amazon Kindle. So, it is a must that you purchase the Amazon Kindle ebook reader. While this is an innovative idea, it may also be the cause of Amazon’s Kindle Book Store downfall. Not everybody have a Kindle Reader and definitely not everyone will want to buy it.

Sony eBook Store

Sony was lucky enough to snag a deal to give access to free public domain books on Google’s Book Service. But apart from public domain books, the Sony eBook Store also lets you purchase books which you can read on your desktop PC or Mac or from your a Sony eBook Reader. The Sony eBook Reader is Amazon Kindle’s fiercest rival to day. So with the launch of the Sony eBook Store, it has finally seal a official rivalry with Amazon.

Taylor & Francis

Features a collection of titles that you can buy in the current popular formats including DX Portable. It also supports ebook formats that can be read through Mobipocket, Microsoft Reader, and Adobe Reader. Taylor & Francis’ ebook collection consists of ebooks from Routledge, Routledge-Cavendish, Garland, CRC Press, Psychology Press and Taylor and Francis.

Cambridge eBookstore

Cambridge University Press’ eBookstore is fairly new so don’t expect the same depth on their ebooks collection as with their catalog of printed books. The ebookstore supports both Microsoft and Adobe Reader formats. You can also download purchased books on your handheld devices provided that it is supported by the ebookstore. This includes the Sony eBook Reader, Iliad ebook reader and more.

Harlequin eBookstore

Harlequin eBookstore also offers ebooks in various formats readable through Adobe Digital Editions, Microsoft Reader and Mobipocket Reader. It allows re-downloading of ebooks you’ve purchased in case you’ve deleted it already on your PC or Mac. What the site didn’t say is whether it supports downloading on a portable ebook reader.

RandomHouse eBookstore

Random House eBookstore sells books online in various ebook formats including – Adobe PDF, Microsoft Reader LIT, Mobipocket PRC, eReader formats for pocket PC, and eBookWise device.

Powell eBookstore

Powell eBookstores supports downloading of their ebooks on various popular ebook readers including the Sony Reader, Astak EZ Reader, BeBook, COOL-ER and more. It supports four formats of ebooks supported by the following readers – Adobe Digital Editions, Microsoft Reader, and Palm Device Reader. It also has DRM-free ebooks in PDF format.

Books on Board

Aside from supporting your usual ebook formats readable in Sony eBook Reader, Cybook/Opus and AzTak EZReader, Books on Board also supports mobile phone devices such as the iPhone, Palm and Blackberry handsets. This is in addition to allowing you to download and read their ebooks on a PC or Mac. Books on Board carry popular bestsellers in their ebook collection.

When the iPhone 3GS came out a couple of months ago, many rejoiced over the fact that its camera was upgraded to 3 megapixel from the measly 2 MP of its predecessor – the iPhone 3G. 3 MP is good enough to produce decent quality snapshots of whatever catches your fancy. But don’t you wish that your iPhone camera can produce more enticing and fun photos? It can actually with the help of these camera-related iPhone apps. So, here goes ten apps that turn your iPhone into a great digital camera device.

Camera Bag (Price: $1.99)

This could perhaps be one of the best camera-related iPhone app. It lets you apply effects that mimic old manual cameras including Helga, Fisheye, 1976, Mono, 1974, Infrared, Cinema, Lolo, Instant and 1962. I’m sure you’ll have fun using Camera Bag. If you want sample photos taken using camera bag, check out this Flickr photostream.

Camera Genius (Price: $0.99)

Next to Camera Bag, Camera Genius is also one of my favorite iPhone camera apps. This app extends your iPhone cameras functionality with features that you will surely love. It lets you capture group photos through noise or by uttering the word “cheese”. It has anti-shake stabilization that effetively reduces blur in your photos, a timer so that you can join group photos (if you have a dock), camera guides for composing and aligning photos, review button, and a bigger easier to tap photo button. In addition, the app also keeps track of the number of photos you’ve taken.

Lomo Camera (Price: $2.99)

I recently bought Lomo Camera after finding out that Camera Bag didn’t have the lomo effect. It’s a bit pricey compared to other iPhone camera app but hey, getting a Lomo Camera is expensive as well. And this the next best thing to owning such camera actually. What this app does is to let you apply various Lomo Effects to your photos based on the popular LC-A camera.

Toy Camera (Price: $1.99)

Another cool camera-related iPhone app. Toy Camera lets you add effects to your iPhone photos including vintage green, vintage warm, vintage yellow, low saturation, high saturation, toningsepia, Black&White, and HiCon Black&White. The app also lets you set your photo size from 426px to 1600px.

Night Camera (Price: $0.99)

If you find yourself in need of taking snapshot of something at night or in a low-light environment, Night Camera app can help you take decent looking photos using your iPhone camera. While this app may be effective in adding some light to your photos, using it may be a challenge at first since the app utilizes the iPhone’s accelerometer to determine whether your hands are stable and no longer shaking before it takes the shot.

Camera Zoom v1.1 (Price: $0.99)

If a 4x digital zoom-capable camera sounds good to you, well this app does the trick effectively. It’s a simple app made for the simple reason – to let you zoom-in on a subject before taking your shot. As this is for digital zoom only, don’t expect too much high-quality photo output from this app. Just about right for its price.

HDR Camera (Price: $1.99)

If you’re a digital photography enthusiast, you’d know that HDR photography is quite popular among photo enthusiasts today. Producing HDR photos is not easy though even if you have the most powerful photo editing software. If you have an iPhone, all you need is this app and you’ll have HDR photos in an instant.

Perfect Photo (Price: $0.99)

What if righ after you’ve taken a photo using your iPhone, you can immediately edit it? To be specific, what if an app lets you denoise, crop, rotate crop, flip the image you taken? Or adjust your photos gamma, brightness, contrast, sharpness, shadow balance, highlights and hue? Perfect photo, right? This app might just help you achieve that.

PhotoEffect (Price: $1.99)

Here’s another fun app to use on your iPhone which lets you add special effects to your photos. PhotoEffect lets you alter, personalize, and apply various effects to photos you’ve taken using your iPhone camera. These effects include – black and white, sepia, sunset, vintage, retro, toy camera, posterization and pop art. It also lets you resize your photos into either 600×900 pixels or 900×1200 pixels.

Camera Super Flash (Price: $1.99)

One of the low-down of the iPhone camera is of course the lack of flash. It’s not that we expect it to have one, after all it’s a mobile phone and not a digital camera. Thankfully, there are several apps available that adds a flash functionality to the iPhone camera and one of these apps is Camera Super Flash. Simply put, this app adds high-quality digital flash enabling your iPhone camera to produce bright photos. The app lets you save your photos up to 1200×1600 pixel resolutions.

There you go, 10 best camera-related iPhone apps the enhances and extends the capabilities of your iPhone camera.

iPhone Applications for Wireless File Transfer

1) Discover

Discover is amazing! All you have to do to start transfer files from your iPhone to computer is download and install the iPhone app. That’s it! Later you will be able to connect to your iPhone using address that Discover app will generate and you are free to manage and transfer files. You can see how easy it is in the video below. Did I mentioned it’s FREE?!

2) Air Sharing

Air Sharing is another application for wireless file transfer between iPhone and computer. It have a bit more functionality than free Discover application, maybe that’s why it actually costs few dollars. Air Sharing have also PRO version with even more functionality and different features such as file operations (move, copy, paste, folder management), ZIP/UNZIP files, encrypted PDF and many more. Compatible with iPhone and iPod touch.

Desktop Clients Using USB Connection

So far I have used two desktop applications which allows you to transfer files between your computer and iPhone using USB cable.

1) iPhone Browser

iPhone Browser is very powerful desktop application for managing files on iPhone from your PC (yes, it works only on Windows). This app can do many things form simple file transfer to crating backups for your entire iPhone.

2) DiscAid

DiskAid is very intuitive application that creates easy way to transfer files between computer and iPhone. Speaking about supported devices it will work with all versions of iPhone (V1, 3G, 3GS) and iPod Touch V1 and V2. You can use this app for free only 14 days, later it will cost you $9.90.

Opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one! That could help explain why everywhere you turn on the Web, there is a poll awaiting your vote. For a dot com owner, the decision to include a poll is a no-brainer: it adds entertainment value, gives people a voice, keeps visitors on your site longer, and helps you take the pulse of the general public on a variety of issues. Another reason to add polls is that they are so easy to implement.

Here are a few of the better free Web-based poll tools.

BlogPoll – Not the sexiest of all of the solutions, but a hard worker! After inputting your question and answer choices, choose your desired widget width, pick your colors, check a results display format and you’re off and running. SAMPLE

Blog Polls – Free but advance registration is required. All fields are on one page and the site has a streamlined look that we found quite enjoyable. You can upload an avatar to further customize your user profile. SAMPLE

CoolWebToys – You must register an account to create a poll. If you are looking to add an additional layer of content to your site, there are other plug-ins, including chat and CoolWebOfTheDay (a toy that supplies new content to your site every day.)

Micropoll – Enter the questions, the answers and your e-mail address. Embed HTML or link directly. SAMPLE

Choose a theme (all color specific), how you’d like people to respond (single choice, multiple choice, dropdown menu) and what text you’d like on the “submit” button. Polls can be syndicated, commented on. You can display results and the number of votes.
Enable IP Logging, Restrict Voting; One Vote Per IP Address. See where in the U.S. people are voting from and how they cast their ballot.

Pollcode.com – No registration, decent customization options. One of the easier polling codes to create. “Quick post” to several social networking sites. Good control over the voting frequency (day, week, month, etc.)

Polldaddy – Probably the most popular solution on this list, Polldaddy offers unlimited free polls with unlimited votes per poll. Add in 14 PollDaddy skins to choose from or the ability to create your own CSS, and you’ll begin to understand why. These customization options are impressive!

Poll results can be viewed online, as XML, CSV, or even subscribed to via RSS!

Aside from standard text, images and videos can be added to polls. Polls can be closed after a certain date, answers can be randomized, results can be hidden and more!

A Pro Account delivers additional features, including the ability to track individual votes, get voter location and detect fraudulent votes.

Pollhost.com – Maintain 15 simultaneous polls for free. Site is in need of an update but it does serve the purpose. Choose from one of our three voting boxes, customize it with your favorite colors and font, and we’ll provide you with an HTML code to paste into your website.

Vizu – The only Flash-based widget on our list, Vizu lets you create polls, vote and analyze poll results by demographic, and comment on thousands of polls. SAMPLE

HONORABLE MENTION:

Websitetoolbox.com – One week free trial than costs a few dollars a month. Fully customizable and standard-looking; I have had success with them over the years.

FINAL WORDS:

Always choose carefully and monitor your Website’s load time after installation. I’ve had some third-party code snippets grind my site to a halt. Proceed at your own risk!

Up until this century, busy signals and long lines were something avid concertgoers and sports fans became accustomed to. There was simply no other way to secure tickets to popular events. Unless of course you wanted to line your pockets with cash and roll the dice negotiating with some shady sidewalk scalper!

Thanks to the Internet, “sold out” is a phrase that no longer stands in the way of you and your favorite shows. Here are ticket search sites that can hook you up, from the front row to the nose bleeds.

TicketFeeder

Boasting access to the world’s largest online inventory of secondary market tickets, registered sellers on TicketFeeder range from season ticket holders who are unable to attend an event to average consumers who are looking to sell.

Choose between sports, concerts or theater tickets. Hot events are listed on homepage and upcoming events, based on your location (determined by IP address), are displayed.

The site offers a 100% guarantee and screen all sellers before they post tickets. Live chat and a toll-free telephone number round out the customer service experience.

Fansnap allows you to find live event tickets. The search engine pools ticket results from dozens of ticket providers so you can get results from all over the Web in one place.

A series of FanSnap filters help you narrow down your search. Just tell the system who you want to see and how much you want to spend, and you will see available seats on the FanSnap Map. Tell your friends about tix via social network or email. If there are no tickets available for a specific show, you can enter your email address and be alerted if things change.

eBay

You already know that you can find great tickets on eBay. Prices vary depending on an events popularity, so it is possible to save a lot of money or overpay.

Craigslist

With no real protection against fraud, Craigslist presents the greatest risks when purchasing tickets. However, it could also save you the most money. I have found the site to be a great hotspot for last-minute deals. If you’re willing to transact in person and take a leap of faith, you can get some seriously good deals.

Viagogo

Viagogo puts an emphasis on the security of every transaction, offering ticket tracking, managed logistics and live customer service support. Tickets are guaranteed to arrive before an event or you are eligible for a full refund. Sellers can rest easy because Viagogo collects money after a purchase is complete to ensure payment.

The site’s founder was once behind another little ticket site. The name of that one? StubHub.

StubHub

Perhaps the most well known third-party ticket facilitator, StubHub is rapidly approaching its 10-year anniversary. All transactions are processed and delivered by StubHub and backed by the company’s FanProtect Guarantee™. The company is now owned by eBay. An attractive affiliate program lets Web site owners make money every time someone buys tickets using your links.

Over 60 professional sports teams and dozens of high-profile artists have partnered with the site to offer exclusive ticket deals.

Ticketmaster

At one time the only game in town, Ticketmaster turned off millions of fans and artists after displaying monopolistic intentions towards the end of the last decade. Thanks to some new and formidable competition, the site seems to be more receptive to fan feedback. Love them or hate ‘em, there’s still a good chance that you will have to go through the site and eat a convenience charge.

LiveNation

By producing over 16,000 concerts for 1,500 artists in 57 countries, LiveNation has taken a 45 million concert ticket bite out of Ticketmasters business.

The publicly traded company has helped transform the concert business by expanding its concert platform into ticketing and building the industry’s first artist-to-fan vertically integrated concert platform.

There are plenty of sites that engage in virtual scalping, but we’ll save those sites for a future post. Where do you find tickets to your favorite shows?

Online software/apps have several advantages against desktop competitors – they are accessible on every computer that have internet connection and you may forget about difficult installation and configuration process. In this article I want to share some of the presentation applications you can use for your business.

1) Prezi

I love this service! With the help of Prezi you can create very creative an well looking “zooming” presentations to surprise the audience. Check out the introduction video and you will see what I’m talking about.

2) Slide Rocket

Although it is a paid service they have very strong free version with most important features included – unlimited presentations and 250Mb of storage. Try! And if you like this service you can upgrade any time.

3) Zoho Show

Zoho always stands out with very rich applications from the side of functionality and offered possibilities. They have wide range of other business apps so you may want to check them out too.

4) Empressr

Also very good alternative to PowerPoint with many interesting features like easy embeddable content from Flickr, Photobucket, Google and others. Empressr have also nice sharing platform.

5) Google Docs

Best thing about Google products is that they are free, but maybe you will miss some features and will be forced to search for more advanced services. But for purposes to create simple presentation Google probably is the best choice.

Hope you find this list helpful and to receive more interesting information that can help you and your business subscribe to our RSS feed.

There was a point when my Firefox was full of different addons – I had an addon for almost every purpose you can imagine. It was so annoying to just browse that I decided to uninstall almost all of them and left only few. But you know, my old bad habits is chasing me again! Just look at these amazing Twitter addons – how can you resist not to press that “Add to Firefox” button?

Helpful little addon that will auto-complete twitter usernames when you want to replay or mention some users when tweeting.

Twitzer

I bet you have thought that it would be cool to post longer tweets – sometimes 140 symbols isn’t enough. Twitzer offers solution – it will crop your text if it is longer and your followers will be able to read everything you got for them via the URL.

Best email spam filters deals with unwanted messages pretty great, but time to time some of the spam emails find the way to your inbox – nothing is perfect! But, maybe, there is a way to stop giving your email to unknown sources and avoid spam.

Many people use temporary email services to protect their real email addresses. When you need to fill out some registration forms or give away your email to shady/unknown sources you can simply create temporary email address and use it instead.

1) Mailinator
