myspacetoolbarAlthough there have been many MySpace Toolbar already available for free in the web, it is only now that MySpace is releasing an official one.   While these unofficial MySpace Toolbar may have successfully given MySpace users a useful toolbar which they can use for easily accessing their MySpace profile, still nothing would compare to the official Toolbar released by MySpace. E-mail Blunder? Undo Send with Gmail

gmail_logo1Even the most anal retentive writer has made the blunder and sent an e-mail with a typo. Or, worse yet, replied to all when the message was meant for a party of one.

If you’re like me and the tens of millions of others who use Gmail as your primary email, you could get a mulligan.

An experimental feature called “Undo Send” has been launched within Google’s testing ground, Google Labs. The functionality will show an “Undo” pop-up that displays for five seconds. If you catch an error or change your mind, Gmail will retrieve the e-mail in draft form and give you the option to make changes or discard the message altogether.

In my world, the biggest offender is the missing file attachment.

In order to use this and other experimental features, you must have Google Labs activated. This can be done within the “Settings” tab of your Google Account.

Gmail is the third most popular e-mail site at this time, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see it eclipse the Yahoo/Microsoft alternatives in the future.

P.S. – Happy 5th birthday, Gmail. My how you’ve grown.

The World’s First Internet Business Card?

businesscard2BusinessCard2 is “the world’s first Internet business card.” With several hundred thousand users, the site strives to provide professionals with an online marketing platform. Users can customize their card by adding as much or as little info as they want, and it is fully searchable by the major search engines.

The site has multiple uses. First, it helps people connect over the Web. It takes a person’s professional life and increases the availability to an audience that would otherwise be inaccessible. With the importance being placed on personal branding these days, it could be a great way to increase Web presence. The second use of BusinessCard2 is to allow bloggers to interact with their audience. By using the service, the blogger’s card is accessible by the readers, and the readers can leave their cards on the site, too. The final way for users to take advantage of BusinessCard2 is by providing a way to research anyone with their own card. Imagine being able to instantly get the information of a local expert on a problem you’re dealing with. You could also find out the contact info for a professional halfway around the globe through a search.

Free membership provides exposure to a worldwide audience, 500MB of free file storage, and a centralized point for providing contact information to other professionals. The BusinessCard2 team lets visitors to the site know that they value user privacy by stating, “BusinessCard2 takes all reasonable precautions to keep your information safe and secure.” With all of the data security concerns in the news daily, it’s a relief to know that they are watching your back.

Tweetmeme – Tweet This Instead of Digg It! Add ReTweet Button to Your Blog

No! To be honest please digg this – it still brings more traffic to the site than twitter.

Other than huge number of eyeballs Twitter brings news faster, maybe this is the reason why slowly Twitter becomes my number one source of information. I feel that Digg is loosing it’s position as “breaking news” source. Twitter is just faster! And it also becomes irrelevant because of the “power-user” / “power-sites” bull***t – seams that Digg is slowly loosing the game.

tweetmeme

So I discovered this Tweetmeme site – it’s just like Digg but instead of actual voting, every retweet of the article counts as vote. It creates list of most popular stories just like on Digg and in my eyes such system is more natural.

If you are blogger you may want to add retweet buttons to your site – it allows users to quickly tweet your articles and it can bring you pretty good traffic too – it will not be huge as if you hit Digg homepage, but still it’s pretty solid.
